LOONA is a South Korean girl group formed by Blockberry Creative. From October 2016 until June 2018, each member of the group was revealed one by one, corresponding to their Korean name Idarui Sonyeo (이달의 소녀), which translates to Girl of the Month. The complete group debuted on August 19, 2018 at their concert LOONAbirth with the release of [+ +], their first album, on August 20, 2018.
Loona is considered an unique girl group due to their girl of the month style, with each girl being represented by a month, color, and animal. Their extensive universe between music videos is connected by these elements as well as distinct patterns in choreography in their songs and imagery invoving their respective colors, animals, and shapes. Loona is divided into 3 subunits, as follows:
